SECOND EXTRAORDINARY CONGRESS IN 13 MONTHS

The black-and-white club will hold its second extraordinary congress in about 13 months after a troubled period in administrative and sports matters. Hasan Arat, who was elected president on December 3, 2023, could not complete his term. Arat resigned on November 29 due to the poor performance of the football team and issues within the board of directors. According to the statute, the second president, Hüseyin Yücel, who took over from Arat, convened the board of directors and decided to hold an extraordinary congress. In the congress, Yücel competed with former board member Serdal Adalı to become the new president of Beşiktaş.

LAST 4 PRESIDENTS WERE ALSO ELECTED THROUGH EXTRAORDINARY CONGRESS

The last four presidents who served at Beşiktaş were elected as a result of the extraordinary general assembly. In the black-and-white club, Yıldırım Demirören (2004-2012), Fikret Orman (2012-2019), Ahmet Nur Çebi (2019-2023), and Hasan Arat (2023-2024) took the presidency after the extraordinary congress.
