A RECORD NUMBER OF VOTES CAST
The Beşiktaş Club is electing its new president at an extraordinary general assembly. The general assembly started at 10:00 AM at the Sinan Erdem Sports Hall. After the presidential board was formed, the candidates' programs were presented, and the election commenced. It was reported that approximately 29,000 members with voting rights could go to the polls at the extraordinary congress. 25 ballot boxes were set up at the Sinan Erdem Sports Hall for the congress members to cast their votes. Due to the high turnout, new ballot boxes had to be added. A total of 13,158 votes were announced. Thus, a record was broken, surpassing the 12,152 votes cast in the previous election.
YÜCEL AND ADALI EMBRACED
After the voting process was completed, the candidates competing for the presidency, Hüseyin Yücel and Serdal Adalı, came together in the congress hall and embraced. This moment was appreciated by the black-and-white supporters.
SECOND EXTRAORDINARY CONGRESS IN 13 MONTHS
The black-and-white club will hold its second extraordinary congress in about 13 months after a troubled period in administrative and sports matters. Hasan Arat, who was elected president on December 3, 2023, could not complete his term. Arat resigned on November 29 due to the poor performance of the football team and issues within the board of directors. According to the statute, the second president, Hüseyin Yücel, who took over from Arat, convened the board of directors and decided to hold an extraordinary congress. In the congress, Yücel competed with former board member Serdal Adalı to become the new president of Beşiktaş.
LAST 4 PRESIDENTS WERE ALSO ELECTED THROUGH EXTRAORDINARY CONGRESS
The last four presidents who served at Beşiktaş were elected as a result of the extraordinary general assembly. In the black-and-white club, Yıldırım Demirören (2004-2012), Fikret Orman (2012-2019), Ahmet Nur Çebi (2019-2023), and Hasan Arat (2023-2024) took the presidency after the extraordinary congress. If either Yücel or Adalı is elected, they will be the fifth consecutive president to come to office through an extraordinary election.
HÜSEYİN YÜCEL COMPETED FOR THE FIRST TIME
Hüseyin Yücel competed for the presidency for the first time in the black-and-white club. Serving as the second president under Hasan Arat, Yücel took over the presidency after Arat's resignation. Yücel, who was a member of the board of directors during the last term of former president Fikret Orman, was on the list of other candidates, Serdal Adalı, in the congress where Ahmet Nur Çebi was first elected president on October 20, 2019.
SERDAL ADALI COMPETED FOR THE 4TH TIME
Serdal Adalı competed for the presidency for the fourth time. Adalı held the positions of vice president and second president during the terms of Yıldırım Demirören and Fikret Orman. Serdal Adalı had previously lost the presidential elections against Fikret Orman in 2013, Ahmet Nur Çebi in 2019, and Hasan Arat in 2023.

Süleyman Seba has gone down in history as the person who served the longest as president in Beşiktaş's 121-year history. Seba served as the president of the black-and-white club for 16 uninterrupted years from 1984 to 2000. During the "Honorary President" Süleyman Seba's term, Beşiktaş won 22 trophies in football, achieving historic successes.
