An unusual and disturbing incident occurred at a funeral home in Las Vegas. A woman named Patricia Sierra, 47, secretly entered the funeral home called Affordable Cremation & Burial Service in the middle of the night. Security cameras recorded Sierra breaking the window of the funeral home and entering. She stole a coffin and the body inside, taking them outside. Around 3:30 in the morning, someone saw the body lying face down on the ground and called the police. The police found the coffin and the body at the scene. The identity of the deceased was determined from nearby documents, and it was discovered that the funeral had taken place the day before. Sierra was arrested a few days later. In her statement to the police, she said she had drunk six beers that night and couldn't remember what she had done. Sierra admitted to having a substance abuse problem and having committed theft in the past. The red BMX bike she used in the incident was also seen on the security cameras. Sierra will be tried for theft, grand theft, and disturbing human remains. Sierra's bail was set at $11,000, and her first hearing will be held on September 18. This incident has deeply shaken the Las Vegas community and raised concerns about the security of funeral homes.
