The statement of Fatmanur Okur, who shot and killed her husband Şükrü Okur with a shotgun in the İzmit district of Kocaeli, has emerged. In her statement, the suspect said that her husband had been coming home drunk lately and accusing her of cheating on him, constantly blaming her for infidelity, and physically assaulting her.
A dispute broke out between Şükrü Okur and his wife Fatmanur, whom he accused of cheating on him. During the argument, Fatmanur Okur shot her husband with a shotgun. Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the area. Health teams determined that Şükrü Okur had lost his life during their checks. After the investigation, Şükrü Okur's body was taken to the Kocaeli State Hospital morgue for an autopsy. Fatmanur Okur, who was taken into custody by the police at the scene, was arrested and sent to prison after her procedures at the police station.
“SHE SAID SHE REGRETTED IT”
In her police statement, Fatmanur Okur explained that her husband had started using drugs about a year ago, and during this process, they faced financial difficulties, and they moved to her father's house where the incident took place.
“HE KEPT ACCUSING ME OF CHEATING AND BEATING ME”
Okur stated that they moved into this house with their child about 3 months ago, and her husband continued to use drugs and alcohol. She mentioned that her husband had been coming home drunk lately and accusing her of cheating, saying, "You are cheating on me," and that he beat her. Describing the day of the incident, Okur said that her husband woke her up in the early morning, accusing her of cheating, and that she shot her husband Şükrü Okur with a shotgun belonging to her father, expressing that she regretted it.
