The woman who thought she was betrayed by her husband wanted to set herself on fire.

Afghan national Zakire T. (31) attempted to set herself on fire by pouring gasoline on herself due to her husband's alleged infidelity. The woman, who was persuaded by citizens to abandon her act, was taken to the hospital.

ATTEMPTED TO SET HERSELF ON FIRE WITH GASOLINE

The incident occurred around 6:00 PM in front of the Ulu Mosque in Hacı Hasanlı Neighborhood. Afghan national Zakire T. attempted to set herself on fire by pouring gasoline on herself due to her husband's alleged infidelity. Citizens reported the situation to health and police teams. At that moment, Zakire T., affected by the smell of the gasoline she poured on herself, was persuaded by citizens to abandon her act.

Zakire T. was taken to Aksaray Training and Research Hospital under police escort by health teams. It was learned that the woman, who was dressed in clean clothes at the hospital, told the police that her husband was abroad and that he had cheated on her. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
