Algerian boxer Imane Khelif defeated Hungarian Luca Anna Hamori 5-0 in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Hamori's claim that "I couldn't win, she's a man" ignited the gender debates surrounding Khelif. Unverified allegations on social media targeted Khelif. The IBA had disqualified Khelif from the Women's World Championship last year, but the IOC allowed her to compete.

The video containing the words spoken by Luca Anna Hamori, the opponent of Imane Khelif in the quarter-finals of the controversially named Paris 2024 Olympic Games, has become a topic of discussion.

Imane Khelif, the Algerian boxer who is the most debated name of the 2024 Paris Olympics worldwide, has once again become the center of attention.

Imane Khelif, who competed in the women's 66 kg category, faced Hungarian boxer Luca Anna Hamori in the quarter-finals and won 5-0.

A video emerged during the rounds in which Hamori said, "I can't win, he is a man," in response to her coach's instructions, and these words caused a controversy.

Italian boxer Angela Carini's withdrawal from the match against her Algerian opponent Imane Khelif in the 46th second during the Olympic Games held in Paris sparked controversy. Carini stated that she withdrew from the competition to protect her life, saying that she had never received such a powerful punch before.

Unverified allegations about Khelif's identity caused the athlete to become a target on social media. The discussions about Khelif are based on a decision made by the International Boxing Association (IBA) last year.

The IBA decided to eliminate Khelif from the Women's World Championships as a result of a test conducted last year. However, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the organization that organizes the Olympics, decided that Khelif could compete.

The IOC cited Khelif's high testosterone hormone levels as the reason for her elimination from the previous tournament.

In a statement this week, the IBA stated that these boxers were eliminated from the tournament last year for the "fairness and integrity of the competition." It was claimed that these athletes were not subjected to a testosterone test, but another test with undisclosed details was conducted. It was stated that they were eliminated after it was determined that these athletes could gain an advantage against their other female opponents.
