Workers working on a luxury construction site in Sarıyer, Istanbul, staged a protest claiming that their wages were not paid. The workers climbed up to the top floor of the construction and threw down the materials. Police teams who arrived at the construction site detained the workers.

In construction workers who claim that they have not received their wages in the Ayazağa neighborhood, which is connected to Sarıyer district of Istanbul, threw the materials down by going up to the top floor of the construction they work in.

STOPPED WORK AND ADDRESSED TO AUTHORITIES

Workers working at a construction site on Cendere Street allegedly took action because their wages had not been paid for a long time. The workers, who stopped the construction work, called on the construction authorities to pay their wages.

The workers, who could not find a solution from the construction authorities, stated that they would not come down from the top floor of the construction until they received their wages. After a while, the workers threw the construction materials located on the top floor down.

TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

Police teams who arrived at the scene upon the notification of the surrounding citizens took the protesting workers into custody. Meanwhile, the action carried out by the workers was recorded by citizens and other workers at the construction site with their mobile phones.
