THEY WENT BANKRUPT DUE TO A DEBT OF 3 MILLION EUROS
According to reports in the Italian press, Brescia was unable to make a payment of 3 million euros, which covers the last two months' salary payments to the players. Despite being given a deadline until Friday, June 6, it was stated that this payment could not be made. It was reported that Brescia, under the management of Massimo Cellino, who has owned the club since 2017, went bankrupt without being able to overcome the financial crisis.
In Serie B, the Brescia team managed to stay in the league last season, but due to its inability to meet financial obligations, it received a 4-point deduction and was relegated to Serie C. Subsequently, it was completely banned from professional leagues due to unpaid salaries.
