A 3-year-old baby named Elif, who was allegedly pushed off the bed by her mother in Ankara, could not be saved. Bruises were found on the baby's body, and the mother, Nuriye S., was arrested. Nuriye S. claimed that her daughter was injured after falling from the bed. The father, Ö.S., who arrived home, took his daughter in his arms and rushed her to the nearby Ayaş Şehit Mehmet Çiftçi State Hospital. BRUISES FOUND ON THE BABY'S BODY AND FRACTURES DETECTED IN RIBSExaminations conducted here revealed bruises on Elif İkra S.'s body and fractures in her ribs. After the first intervention, Elif was transferred to Bilkent City Hospital. Despite the doctors' intervention, Elif İkra S. could not be saved two days later. The funeral of Elif İkra S. was held in Polatlı. MOTHER ARRESTEDFollowing the preliminary autopsy report prepared regarding the death of Elif İkra S., her mother Nuriye S. was taken into custody. In her first statement, Nuriye S. said, "She fell from the bed while playing at home. Then she lost consciousness." Nuriye S., who is accused of abusing her daughter and throwing her from a height, was arrested by the on-duty magistrate to whom she was referred. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
