Snow fighting exceeding 6 meters continues even in July in Yüksekova district of Hakkari. While the roads opened by the teams resemble tunnels, work continues day and night despite the avalanche danger.
Snowfighting efforts continue intensively in the Yüksekova district in July. Teams from the Yüksekova Site Directorate, affiliated with the Hakkari Special Provincial Administration, are working nonstop on the road to the Dat Lakes of the İkiyaka Mountains in the district center.
6-METER SNOW TUNNELS
Teams, who face challenging moments due to snow tunnels and snow depths reaching up to 6 meters, also use excavators on roads they cannot clear with front-end loaders. Struggling to advance in snow exceeding the height of the loader, the teams continue working day and night despite avalanche risks. The roads opened by the teams, who work intensively to prevent hardship for residents, especially in high altitudes, resemble tunnels.
