SOME CITIZENS USED UMBRELLAS
The heatwave affecting Diyarbakır negatively impacted daily life. In the city, where temperatures approached 40 degrees Celsius, in-car thermometers displayed 38 degrees. Digital thermometers across various points in the city also showed temperatures between 37-38 degrees Celsius. Citizens seeking protection from the scorching heat preferred to spend time in parks, under trees, and in shaded areas. Some citizens walked on the streets using umbrellas to shield themselves from the sun's effect.
HEAT ALSO CHALLENGED STRAY ANIMALS
The high temperatures affected not only humans but also animals. Many animals in the city center were observed taking shelter in shaded areas and gathering around water sources.
Meanwhile, due to the hot weather, many citizens applied to health institutions with complaints of nausea, vomiting, weakness, and heatstroke. Children rushing to the historic Anzele pool in the Sur district created a crowd around the pool to escape the effects of the hot weather.
