After the 30% increase in the minimum wage, taxi drivers have once again taken action. Taxi drivers, who last received a 16.5% increase in taxi meter fares in July, are requesting another increase.
EYÜP AKSU ANNOUNCED
Eyüp Aksu, the President of the Istanbul Taxi Drivers' Tradesmen Chamber, announced that they will request a fare increase at the UKOME meeting to be held on January 6.

In a written statement made by Eyüp Aksu on the social media account of the Istanbul Taxi Drivers' Tradesmen Chamber, it was stated, "In order to prevent our tradesmen from being victimized against the incoming increases, to maintain our service quality, and to continue providing sustainable taxi and taxi minibus transportation services, we have requested a taxi meter fare increase to be discussed at the UKOME meeting to be held on 06.01.2025. We will ensure that the fare increase is made at the level expected by our tradesmen at the upcoming UKOME meeting."
