“HE FIRED TWO SHOTS BEHIND ME”
Regarding those moments he experienced, Yusuf Enis Güler said, “I was taking my siblings to school as every morning. I was driving along the route I always take. While passing in front of the school, I gave way to the children. At that moment, the person behind me honked. There was no pedestrian crossing. There was one a little further ahead. The person behind me also honked for a long time. Then he swore, saying, ‘Is this a place to give way?’ I responded. When I replied by swearing, he cut in front of me with his car and pulled out his gun. I did not think he would fire. When he pulled out his gun, I continued past the car. I saw that he was not letting me go. I threw myself into an alley ahead. When he entered the alley, he fired two shots in succession behind me. After he fired, I ran away. Then he stopped following me. At that moment, I had siblings—one 10 and the other 14 years old. One was sitting in the back seat. He opened fire even though he saw them. Afterwards, I immediately went up from the intersection below. I also saw that individual. Taking his license plate as well, I called the police teams. Within about half an hour, they caught the individual.”
