The theft of a fire extinguisher from a mosque in the Çiftlikköy district of Yalova was recorded by a security camera, carried out by two masked young individuals. Two thieves, who entered the Kelebek Çayırı Mosque with their faces covered by t-shirts, stole the extinguisher that was fixed to the wall in the entrance area and fled. Necmettin Öner, the president of the Kelebek Çayırı Mosque Construction and Preservation Association, who made a statement regarding the incident captured by the security camera, said that they have closed the stairs leading to the upper floor of the mosque with a shutter to prevent thefts. Öner also stated that they have started locking the doors, saying, "Unfortunately, thefts can occur in our mosque from time to time. Recently, two young individuals came in by covering their faces, took our fire extinguisher, and left. What saddens us is that those who do this are young."
