In Gaziantep, four bracelets weighing 40 grams, wrapped in a napkin dropped by a citizen while walking on the street, were found in a 40-ton landfill after being swept up by a cleaning vehicle and returned to their owner. The woman, who had lost her gold bracelets, breathed a sigh of relief and thanked the personnel of the Şehitkamil Municipality who assisted her.
In the Pirsultan neighborhood of the Şehitkamil district, Gülbeyaz Demir, who was going to the hospital, wrapped her 4 bracelets, weighing a total of 40 grams, in a napkin and put them in her pocket before entering the MRI. After undergoing the MRI at the hospital, Demir returned home and realized that the gold in her pocket was missing. After searching the area and reviewing the security cameras of nearby businesses, Gülbeyaz Demir discovered that she had dropped the gold wrapped in a napkin on a street and that a cleaning vehicle belonging to the Şehitkamil Municipality had swept it up.

Upon reporting the situation to the municipal authorities, a search was conducted by workers at the sorting facility where approximately 40 tons of garbage had been collected. After hours of searching, 4 bracelets were found among the trash and returned to their owner. The moments of the gold being swept away by the cleaning vehicle and subsequently being found were captured on camera.
"IT WAS MY 10-YEAR SAVINGS"
Gülbeyaz Demir, who stated that the gold she lost was her 10-year savings and thanked those who found it, said, "I took off the bracelets and wrapped them in a napkin and put them in my pocket because I was going to have an MRI at the hospital. When I returned home, I realized that my gold had fallen. Later, we saw on the security camera that the cleaning vehicle had swept the spot where I dropped it. Then we called the authorities. The teams searched the collection facility and found it. I came and received my gold. I was very upset when I lost it. This was my 10-year savings, and I am very happy that it was found. I thank everyone who helped and found it."

Hayri Yalçın, the Regional Control Officer of the Şehitkamil Municipality Waste Collection Facility, who found the lost gold, stated, "As soon as we received the report, we immediately took action. We searched the areas where the sweeping vehicles from the region had dumped. We found the gold that the citizen lost among approximately 30-40 tons of garbage and returned it. The owner was very happy when the gold was found. We shared that joy as well."
