A group gathered in the district of Serik in Antalya during the night and caused damage to vehicles and businesses owned by Syrians. The images captured by cameras during the day after the incidents were calmed down were enough to reveal the extent of the chaos in the region. INCIDENTS THAT STARTED IN KAYSERI SPREAD TO ANTALYAAfter a 7-year-old Syrian girl was harassed by a relative in Kayseri, a group gathered in the old Friday market area of Serik in Antalya around 23:00 yesterday, chanting slogans. The protesters threw stones at and damaged the vehicles owned by Syrians living in various parts of the district. CROWD WAS DISPERSED WITH DIFFICULTYDeputy Mayor Halil Demir addressed the crowd through the loudspeaker of a police vehicle, saying "Please, let's not cause any incidents. Let's be sensitive and disperse. Everyone should go home. Let's help our police." The incidents were calmed down around 03:00 with the efforts of the police. STREET TURNED INTO A BATTLEFIELDThe damage caused by the incidents was seen during the day. It was observed that the shutters of the shops that were opened in the quiet area were destroyed and the belongings were thrown into the street.
