The incident occurred yesterday around 14:30 on Atatürk Street in Ardeşen district. A dispute broke out between Ahmet Naci Aytemiz, who was the mayor of Tunca town from AK Party in the past, and individuals with whom he had a previous feud at a market in the district.

INJURED AYTEMİZ COLLAPSED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET

As the argument turned into a fight, the parties started shooting at each other with guns. Aytemiz, who was hit by a bullet fired from H.K.'s gun during the shootout that spread to the street, collapsed on the ground covered in blood, and an unidentified person was also injured in the shoulder.

HE PASSED AWAY AT THE HOSPITAL WHERE HE WAS TAKEN

While the suspects involved in the armed fight were leaving the area, Aytemiz, who was intervened by the medical teams that arrived at the address upon the notification, was taken to Kaçkar State Hospital. Despite all efforts, Aytemiz, who underwent surgery, could not be saved. The treatment of the other injured person at Rize State Hospital is still ongoing.

2 SUSPECTS ARRESTED, 1 FUGITIVE IS BEING SOUGHT

While 2 suspects who were determined to have used weapons in the incident were captured and taken into custody by the police, efforts are still ongoing to apprehend 1 person.
