Two people who prayed with the congregation at Merkez Ulu Mosque in Istanbul’s Avcılar district could not find their shoes on the way out. Yalçın Abalı, who could not find the shoes he had left at the entrance, asked his apprentice at his workplace to bring him slippers. Abalı, who was preparing to leave the mosque in slippers, later found his shoes on the shelf. The other person who was looking for his shoes also got his shoes back.

Two people who could not find their shoes after prayer in Avcılar searched inside the mosque and in the courtyard for a long time. The shopkeeper, who was preparing to return to his workplace in slippers, was reunited with his shoes at the last moment.

THEY COULD NOT FIND THEIR SHOES AFTER PRAYER

One of the 2 people who prayed congregationally on the lower floor of Merkez Ulu Mosque left his shoes at the mosque entrance, while the other put them on the shelf. Both people, who came out after the prayer, could not find their shoes where they had left them. While the person who could not find his shoes despite searching the shelves went upstairs, Yalçın Abalı began waiting in the courtyard.

HE CALLED HIS APPRENTICE AND ASKED FOR SLIPPERS

Abalı, who could not find the shoes he had left in front of the door, called his apprentice at his workplace and asked him to bring his slippers. Abalı, who put on the slippers brought by the apprentice, also told the customer waiting for him that he was late.

“I HAVE BEEN COMING HERE SINCE 1985; THIS IS THE FIRST TIME SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME”

Explaining what happened, Abalı said, “The apprentice brought slippers; we will go with slippers. I had put them here. I came out of the mosque; there are no shoes. I have work; the shop will remain closed. I came running to the mosque and put my shoes here too. I went inside, performed the prayer, and came out. I was going to leave; I have work. There are no shoes. I got stranded here. I called the boy; I will go with slippers. I have been coming here since 1985; this is the first time something like this has happened to me.”

THE SHOES WERE FOUND ON THE SHELF

Abalı, who was preparing to leave the mosque, saw his shoes on the shelf at the last moment. Abalı took his shoes and left the courtyard. It was learned that the other person who had lost his shoes also found them later.
