Mahmut Özyavuz, the MHP mayor of Harran, who is alleged to have had a 63-room mansion built in Şanlıurfa, was complained about to the party headquarters by his relatives. In the 91-page file, it was claimed that a public loss of 3 billion liras was caused through transactions carried out via municipal companies.

Striking allegations have been made about Mayor Mahmut Özyavuz in the Harran district of Şanlıurfa. Özyavuz, who is alleged to have had a 63-room mansion built for himself, this time was complained about to the MHP General Headquarters by his relatives over the transactions of municipal companies.

THEY FILED A COMPLAINT WITH A 91-PAGE FILE

According to Sözcü's news report, the children of Mehmet Özyavuz, the former AK Party mayor of Harran Municipality, conveyed the allegations about Mahmut Özyavuz, who has been in office since 2019, to MHP management in a 91-page file.

In the complaint petition, it was alleged that approximately 3 billion lira in public loss was caused by land sales and zoning transactions carried out through municipal companies.

ALLEGATION THAT HE TRANSFERRED THE COMPANY'S POWERS TO HIS DRIVER

According to the allegations in the file, the company founded by Özyavuz in 2013, after various name and management changes, was merged with another company and transformed into Harran Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Inc.

It was alleged that Özyavuz, stated to be the sole shareholder of the company, transferred his powers over the company to his driver Mahmut Işık again on July 8.

CAPITAL INCREASED FROM 250 THOUSAND LIRA TO 1 BILLION LIRA

In the complaint file, it was stated that the capital of the municipal company was increased from 250 thousand lira to 1 billion lira in 2025.

While it was alleged that the company purchased 89 workplaces and 23 residences in the last five years, it was claimed that a Public Education Center is located at the address shown as the company address.

TREASURY LAND CHANGED HANDS MANY TIMES

In the file, it was alleged that a 4,724-square-meter land belonging to the Treasury changed hands many times since 2021 among TOKİ, the municipality, an individual and the municipal company.

While it was stated that the property was eventually sold back to the municipality, it was reported that the person named S.I., mentioned in the transactions, worked as a worker at the Irrigation Union. The complainants requested that an investigation be launched into Mahmut Özyavuz and that an examination be conducted by MASAK to investigate the allegations.

“I FIRED HIS SON FROM THE JOB, THEY CAN'T STAND ME”

Mayor Mahmut Özyavuz, responding to the allegations about him, argued that the complaints stemmed from a dispute within the family.

Özyavuz said, “When I was elected mayor in 2019, I saw that my cousin had unfairly received a position at the municipality. They can't stand me because I fired him; they constantly complain.”

“THEY ARE HAVING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE PREPARE A FILE”

The mayor, stating that the dismissal decision was also found justified by the judiciary, used the following statements: “The Court of Accounts also warned. I terminated the employment contract; it went to court, and it was seen that I was right. They took a blow here; now they are resorting to different methods. They are having artificial intelligence prepare a file, going to my party and complaining. Those lands and properties all belong to the municipal company. Today I am here, tomorrow someone else will be...”

Özyavuz denied the allegations that there were irregularities in transactions concerning the immovable properties of municipal companies.
