New junctions will be constructed around the North Marmara Motorway.

The construction works in the Nakkaş-Başakşehir section of the North Marmara Motorway Project (including the 3rd Bosphorus Bridge) have led to the decision by the General Directorate of Highways to expropriate certain properties urgently.

The areas subject to expropriation are located in the Çatalca, Arnavutköy, and Başakşehir districts of Istanbul. According to a report in Milliyet, it will be an important alternative route starting from Habibler, affecting the Fenertepe and Başakşehir exits, continuing from an area with a dense housing stock at the Ispartakule exit, and relatively impacting the industrial and logistics areas at the Hadımköy exit.

WILL IT INCREASE PRICES IN THE AREA?

The ease of transportation in the region may pave the way for increases in land, plot, and house prices. However, experts indicate that investments can be made in lands outside the expropriation areas, where the zoning status is confirmed and independent.

In a statement made under the title of Important and Global Projects by the General Directorate of Highways, it was emphasized that the project in question would reduce Istanbul's traffic problem. The statement included the following expressions: With the project; it is aimed to solve the transportation problems of the Halkalı, Başakşehir, Kayaşehir, Kayabaşı, and Bahçeşehir settlements, to facilitate access to Çam and Sakura City Hospital, to provide access to the settlements that will remain west of the passage after the Kanal Istanbul Project is realized, to reduce traffic congestion in Istanbul, our country's largest metropolis, to increase safety and travel comfort, and to save fuel and time.
