Following the fire disaster at the Bolu Grand Kartal Hotel, there has been an increased demand for fire extinguishers, and it has been observed that exorbitant prices are being charged for these products. In response to the situation, the Ministry of Trade has requested a defense from 351 businesses.

The Ministry of Trade inspected 5,154 products in 395 businesses across the country related to fire materials.

According to a statement made by the Ministry, inspection activities were carried out on January 27 by 81 Provincial Directorates of Trade affiliated with the Ministry.

In this context, based on data collected from 77 provinces, excluding 4 provinces without businesses, inspections were conducted on 5,154 products in 395 businesses nationwide.

As a result of the inspections, the number of businesses for which a defense was requested, anticipating referral to the Unfair Price Assessment Board, was 351.
