The operation targeting a cryptocurrency fraud suspect wanted with a red notice in Istanbul has been expanded. During the work carried out with the support of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT), the foreign national suspect and his wife, followed by his 3 bodyguards, were also caught. In searches conducted at addresses in Beşiktaş, Üsküdar, and Sarıyer, $7 million 150 thousand, luxury watches, bags, weapons, and a large amount of digital material were seized.
Three bodyguards of the foreign national suspect, wanted by a red notice for the crime of "cryptocurrency fraud" and caught in an operation, were also detained.
THEY HAD BEEN CAUGHT TOGETHER WITH THEIR SPOUSE
Istanbul Police Department Intelligence Branch Directorate and Financial Crimes Combat Branch Directorate teams continue their efforts to capture internationally wanted suspects with the support of the National Intelligence Organization. The teams that caught R.J.S., for whom a red notice was issued on the grounds of large-scale cryptocurrency fraud, and their spouse A.K. in an operation on October 14, deepened their work.
THREE MORE SUSPECTS WERE DETAINED
Following the investigations, it was determined that 3 people who served as bodyguards for the suspects used 15 separate addresses in Beşiktaş, Üsküdar and Sarıyer. In the operation carried out by the teams, 3 suspects were detained. In the searches at the addresses after the two operations, $7,150,000, 160,000 lira, numerous luxury watches, bags, jewelry, 6 cold wallets, 3 handguns, 4 long-barreled rifles, 7 magazines, 400 rounds of ammunition, 11 computer towers, 12 laptops, 19 external hard drives, and 46 USB flash drives were seized. The procedures of 5 suspects at the police station are ongoing.
