After the decision was made for the CHP congress, a striking decision came from Borsa Istanbul. Borsa Istanbul announced that the losses in the index exceeded 6%, therefore the Index-linked Circuit Breaker System was activated, temporarily halting trading.
Borsa Istanbul AŞ announced that the Endeks-Based Circuit Breaker System was triggered as losses in the BIST 100 index exceeded 6 percent, and trading in all securities on the equity market has been temporarily suspended.
Borsa Istanbul's statement regarding the activation of the Endeks-Based Circuit Breaker System was published on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).
The statement said: "As of 17:42:06, the index-based circuit breaker was triggered, and trading was temporarily suspended in all order books in the equity market and in contracts based on shares and share indices traded in the futures and options market. Trading in the equity market will resume at 18:01 with the closing session, and in contracts based on shares and share indices traded in the futures and options market, trading will resume at 18:08 via continuous trading method. Trading in warrants, certificates, and subscription rights in the equity market will not resume today. Session flows will continue from where they left off as of the EBDK end time."
