The passenger train traveling from Tatvan to Elazığ collided with a concrete pouring pump vehicle near the water channel by the railway in the Bağlar neighborhood of Muş during the afternoon hours. As a result of the collision, the train, which had its driver's cabin separated from the body, stopped about 100 meters ahead.
MUSH GOVERNOR CONDUCTED INVESTIGATIONS AT THE SCENE
Muş Governor Avni Çakır, who conducted investigations at the scene, stated that the train accident occurred around 12:20 in the Bağlar neighborhood, noting that 2 people were injured and 1 person lost their life in the accident. Governor Çakır said, "The train operating on the Tatvan-Elazığ regional route collided with the concrete pouring apparatus, known as the boom, of a concrete mixer working on the railway around 12:00. As a result of the collision, a fatal and injurious accident occurred due to the separation of the main body of the train from the section where the drivers were located. Unfortunately, one of the drivers lost his life as a result of this collision. One person is in critical condition, while the other is relatively in better condition. They are currently receiving treatment at Muş State Hospital. An investigation has been initiated regarding how the incident occurred and other related matters. I wish a speedy recovery and extend my condolences," he said.
