US President Donald Trump responded harshly to allegations made about him by suspect Cole Tomas Allen, who was detained after the armed attack at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner.
"I AM NOT A RAPIST, I AM NOT A PEDOPHILE"
In an interview with CBS television, Trump reacted to the host reading terms like "rapist" and "pedophile" found in Allen's notes. The US President firmly denied the accusations, stating, "I am not a rapist, I have never raped anyone, I am not a pedophile."
REACTION TO THE HOST: "YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED"
Trump, describing the suspect's statements as "the ramblings of a sick person," also strongly criticized the host for bringing up these allegations on air. Trump told the host he "should be ashamed" for reading those statements.
"I KNEW YOU WOULD READ IT"
As tensions rose during the interview, Trump said, "I was expecting you to read that part, because I knew you would. Because you are terrible people." He emphasized that the allegations have nothing to do with him.
EPSTEIN REFERENCE: "THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TABLE"
In his statement regarding the accusations, Trump made a reference to the media and his opponents, saying, "I have been completely exonerated on these matters. Those who were involved in those dealings, the Epstein case, or others, are your friends sitting on the other side of the table."
SUSPECT'S NOTES IN THE SPOTLIGHT
During part of the interview, the program host also relayed statements from suspect Allen's notes, including, "I will no longer allow a pedophile, a rapist, and a traitor to stain my hands with their crimes."
