US President Donald Trump claimed that they had to postpone the attack by two days because the timing of the planned military operation against Iran was leaked to the press. Claiming that the takeoff and arrival times of B-2 bombers were leaked to the press, Trump reacted by saying, "Those who leak this information should be shot. We used to shoot leakers." He also argued that those who leaked should be sentenced to life imprisonment.

Arguing that the leak in question affected the operation plans, Trump stated that the strike therefore had to be postponed by two days.

Reacting harshly to the transfer of classified military information to the press, Trump said, "Those who leaked this information should be shot. We used to shoot leakers."
Trump's statements brought the issue of the security of classified information concerning military operations and leaks to the press back onto the agenda.
CLAIMED THAT THE TAKEOFF TIME OF B-2 AIRCRAFT WAS LEAKED
Speaking at a campaign rally held in Arizona, Trump claimed that information that B-2 bombers would take off from Missouri at 12:07 and their arrival time at the target was leaked to the press.
Saying that the information in question appeared in CNN and The New York Times, Trump argued that Iran was aware of the attack in advance. He recounted that they then canceled that day's operation and carried out the strike two days later.
"THEY SHOULD REMAIN IN PRISON FOR LIFE"
Arguing that those who carried out the leak should be severely punished, Trump also said they should be sentenced to life imprisonment.
Stating that the sharing of classified information endangered the safety of American soldiers, Trump sharply targeted those who leaked it.
The operation Trump referred to is assessed to be linked to the attack on Iran's nuclear facilities in June 2025. However, the claim that the military operation was postponed because of the leak has not been independently verified
