Turkey's state-run aid agency translated a book into eight languages giving a blow-by-blow account of an attack on the Turkish parliament on the night of the defeated coup.
"That Night at the Veteran Parliament" authored by Necdet Unuvar, ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party deputy of southern Adana province, narrates the incidents in the words of lawmakers present at the parliament when it was bombed.
Former Parliament Speaker Ismail Kahraman and former Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag were also among those interviewed in the book.
The 692-page book also compiles domestic and international reactions to the coup attempt and attack on parliament.
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) will distribute the book in its offices across the globe, Turkey's foreign missions, nonprofit organizations and the parliament.
The book was translated into English, French, Arabic, German, Bosnian, Russian, Spanish and Albanian.
According to the Turkish government, the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 15, 2016, which left 251 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.
Ankara also accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary. -
