Turkey Calls On Romania To Take Action Against Feto

15.10.2018 20:13

Turkish deputy parliament speaker Levent Gok meets Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dancila in Anakra.

The Turkish deputy parliament speaker called on Romania to take necessary measures against Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), the group behind defeated coup of July 15, 2016 in Turkey.

Levent Gok met Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dancila in capital Ankara.

Gok recalled the friendship between the two countries and said Turkey was one of the first countries that officially recognized Romania in 1878.

He also emphasized Turkey's fight against FETO, saying: "Romania should do what is necessary against this terrorist organization."

Following the meeting, Gok and Dancila visited parts of the parliament which were bombed during the defeated coup.

FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup, which martyred 251 people and injured nearly 2,200 others.

Ankara also accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary. -
