According to the data from the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association (DKİB), Turkey, which has the only tea that is snowed on in the world, exported 3,642 tons of tea in 9 months. From this export, a profit of 18 million 23 thousand 919 dollars was achieved. In the 9-month period of the year, tea worth 6 million 105 thousand 169 dollars was sold to Belgium, 2 million 766 thousand 299 dollars to the United Kingdom, 1 million 338 thousand 382 dollars to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, 1 million 318 thousand 268 dollars to Germany, and 1 million 246 thousand 456 dollars to the USA. Unlike in 2023, tea was sent to 17 countries this period, including Mauritania, Tunisia, Egypt, Cuba, Burundi, the Central African Republic, Namibia, Colombia, Cambodia, and Slovenia. 45% OF COUNTRY EXPORTS FROM RIZE45% of Turkey's tea exports were carried out by companies operating in Rize. In the January-September period, 2,234 tons of tea were exported from Rize to 24 countries, primarily Belgium, generating a profit of 8 million 74 thousand 80 dollars. DKİB Chairman Saffet Kalyoncu stated that European countries continue to lead in Turkey's tea exports, as in every period. Kalyoncu, who emphasized the importance of tea exports, said, "We anticipate that we will close the year at the same levels as last year in tea exports." Kalyoncu also pointed out that they are continuously working to increase tea exports, stating: "We will continue our efforts with the projects we have developed to reach higher figures in our tea exports in the upcoming period. In this context, we will promote tea by organizing tasting events in Japan, where there is a significant tea culture, in the first week of December." INCREASING EXPORTS IS ON THE AGENDAKalyoncu emphasized that they aim to increase the market share of Turkish tea in the countries where it is exported, stating, "In the coming days, we will organize trade delegation programs with our tea exporters, especially to European and Middle Eastern countries, to try to increase our exports to these regions."
