A passenger ferry ran aground in Turkey's Gokceada district located in the north of the entrance to the Dardanelles Strait in the Aegean Sea because of strong winds Sunday, a Turkish coast guard official said.
Around 188 passengers and 39 vehicles are on the ferry called Gokceada-1. Rescue boats have been dispatched and the Gokceada Coast Guard has sent a towing boat to assess damage to the ferry, the official added.
An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the incident.
