'Turkey Justified In Eliminating Existential Threats'

International terror groups seek to undermine many Muslim countries, the most being Turkey, Iran and Pakistan, argued a scholar of world politics.

Ejaz Akram told Anadolu Agency that Ankara had a particularly important role to play in restoring peace and justice in the Muslim world, but that western countries, including the U.S., backed by "global financial elites" wanted to economically, financially and militarily bludgeon these countries into submission.

"This type of terrorism has been imposed on Turkey from the outside. However, we should not only see them as the PKK and similar groups, but know who funds these people," said the professor of Religion and World Politics at the National Defense University of Pakistan.

Akram emphasized that Turkey reserved "every right to resist" these groups, and that it should do "everything in its control" against domestic traitors, as it was one of the Muslim world's only three professional militaries -- the others being the Iranian and Pakistani armies.

He argued that those who supplied and funded the PKK and its allied terror groups were from the "foreign intelligence organizations".

'Structure of terrorism'

"There is a structure of world terrorism," he told Anadolu Agency in an interview in Istanbul on the sidelines of a civil-military relations conference at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University.

There are three tiers, he explained: "The first tier, which is unseen, is in control of printing money and they control states and influence their behavior in ways that the people of those states do not want."

Akram added that such circles were able to accomplish this as "the world is stuck in a global structure of finance from where there was no running away."

Akram said that states needed vast financial dollar currency in order to purchase oil, which they must meet by these dollar printers, for a price.

"So, the monetization of global money [dollar] has at the very top people who run the global finances which is basically a racket and it has no link with justice. It is their preference of geopolitics that then creates a second tier of terrorism," he said.

Alleging that the views of the so-called first tier of terrorism was rooted in the geopolitics of global Zionism, he said these "global Zionists" were influencing governments such as the U.S., U.K., France and others.

"The U.S. was founded on the violence of the elimination of the entire local population; England did the same thing through colonialism all over the world and France also did the same thing to a lesser extent but still quite significant in North Africa," he argued.

'State-sponsored terrorism'

Akram described the second tier of global terrorism as "state-sponsored terror".

"This state terrorism likes to recruit local groups and these local groups create certain 'movements'," he said, asserting that the manifestation of this could be seen in Turkey as the PKK terror group which he said had been the country's "Achilles' heel".

He alleged that that state-sponsors of these terror groups had "no compunction" in funding them and conjoining them with groups like Daesh, also created, directly or indirectly, by state terrorists".

"Then, what they try to do is knock down and bludgeon certain states into submission, who would like to go independent on their policies," Akram argued.

In this structure, Akram said the third tier of global terrorism comprised of terror groups including the PKK, FETO and Daesh.

"Turkey is justified in eliminating them because they threaten Turkish peace and development," he stressed, even if they had not been recognized as terrorists groups by the UN, U.S.

"If Turkish state weakens or breaks, nobody benefits," he added.

"As a Pakistani," Akram said, "I whole-heartedly welcome Operation Peace Spring in northern Syria because this has nothing against the Syrian people. It is actually going to help repatriate Syrian people because Syria is infiltrated with so many different brands of terrorists including ISIS [Daesh]."

Turkey on Oct. 9 launched Operation Peace Spring east of the Euphrates River to secure its borders by eliminating terrorist groups there, to ensure the safe return of Syrian refugees and Syria's territorial integrity.

Ankara wants to clear northern Syria, east of the Euphrates of the terrorist YPG/PKK terrorists.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and the European Union -- has been responsible for deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children and infants. YPG is the Syrian branch of the PKK.

Sultan Abdul Hamid's reply

Akram, who is an expert of world politics and comparative religious studies, said one state could not exist "within a state", referring to alleged plans of forming another state on the borders of Turkey in Syria.

"There is already a homeland for every community which is Turkey," he said.

Akram argued that the Jewish community had previously made a similar request to Ottoman Sultan Abdulhamit II for a separate homeland in the 19th century, without articulating their intention to establish the state of Israel.

Quoting Abdulhamit's reply, Akram said: "You have a homeland and you can go and live in Palestine, but you cannot have state within a state." -
