Turkey's Borsa Istanbul Flat At Open

Turkey's benchmark stock index rose by 0.04 percent or 35.74 points to open at 97,990.90 points on Tuesday.



On Monday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at 97,955.16 points with a 0.51 percent drop and a daily trading volume of 8.23 billion Turkish liras ($1.54 billion).



The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.3430 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), up from Monday's closing rate of 5.3360.



The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also rose to 6.0710, versus 6.0660 at the last close. One British pound traded for 6.8950 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 6.8820 by market close on Monday.



The price of Brent oil fell to $62.16 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Tuesday, versus $62.74 at Monday's closing. -
