Turkey's Borsa Istanbul Slightly Down At Midweek Open

Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,363.87 points on Wednesday, decreasing 0.10% or 1.40 points from the previous close.

At Tuesday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 0.87% at 1,365.27 points, with a daily trading volume of 15.5 billion Turkish liras ($1.91 billion).

One US dollar traded for 8.1200 Turkish liras as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), up from 8.1050 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 9.7800, versus 9.7740, while one British pound traded for 11.3300 Turkish liras, dropping from 11.3550.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $66.30 as of 10 a.m. local time . -
