Turkey's Borsa Istanbul Up At Close

Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the day at 97,886.36 points on Tuesday, up 0.58% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 97,530.88 points. As of daily close, it earned 562.36 points from Monday's close of 97,324.00 points.

During Tuesday's trading, the index's lowest level was 97,267.97 points and the highest was 98,367.48 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 660.7 billion Turkish liras ($113.7 billion) by market close, and the daily trading volume was 6.4 billion Turkish liras ($1.09 billion).

On the second transaction day of the week, 58 stocks on the index rose, 32 were down, and 10 were flat compared to Monday.

The top-listed companies by market value were Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding and private lenders Garanti and Akbank.

The highest trading volumes were posted by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, Garanti, and Akbank.

Automotive company Dogus Otomotiv was the best performer on Tuesday, with its shares up 19.92%, while stocks of mining company Park Elektrik dropped most, down 5.15%

The price of one ounce of gold was around $1,486.40 by market close, down from 1,491.50 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $60.00 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) on Tuesday.
