Turkey's Borsa Istanbul Up At Close

Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the day at 105,359.76 points on Thursday, up 0.39% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 105,642.72 points. As of the daily close, it earned 406.26 points from Wednesday's close of 104,935.82 points.

During the day, the index's lowest level was 104,534.59 points, while the highest level was 106,291.54 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 758.2 billion Turkish liras ($112.1 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 18.25 billion Turkish liras ($2.7 billion).

On the second transaction day of the week, 29 stocks on the index rose, 60 were down, and 11 were flat compared to Wednesday.

The highest trading volumes were posted by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, private lender Garanti and aviation firm Pegasus.

Real estate investment company Halk was the best performer, with its shares up 9.87%, while telecommunications company Karel dropped the most, losing 7.39%.

The price of one ounce of gold was $1,725 by market close, up from $1,707 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $35.30 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) on Thursday.
