Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the midweek at 109,111.34 points on Wednesday, up 0.94% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 108,926.19 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 1,014.07 points as of daily close from Tuesday's close of 108,097.27 points.
During Wednesday's trading, the BIST 100's daily low was 108,326.55 points while it peaked at 109,230.84 points -- 71 stocks on the index rose, 24 fell, and five were flat compared to the previous close.
Closing the day with a market value of nearly 783 billion Turkish liras ($115.4 billion), the benchmark index posted a daily trading volume of around 14.8 billion Turkish liras ($2.2 billion).
Shares of private lender Garanti BBVA, defense company Aselsan and national flag carrier Turkish Airlines recorded the highest trading volumes on Wednesday.
Stocks of private lender Sekerbank showed the best performance -- up 9.40% -- as stocks of fertilizers producer and distributer Gubre Fabrikalari did the worst with a 7.06% drop.
The price of one ounce of gold was $1,709.50 by market close, down from $1,742.00 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $39.47 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) on Wednesday.
