A court in Turkey's capital Ankara handed an aggravated life sentence to a law student found guilty of killing a female research assistant last year.
The 27-year-old Ceren Damar Senel was killed on Jan. 2, 2019 by student Hasan Ismail Hikmet after Senel caught him cheating on an exam.
The 33rd Heavy Penal Court sentenced Hikmet on charges of deliberate murder. He was separately given two years in prison for violating firearm laws and threatening with a gun. -
