Turkey To Provide €3M To Civil Society Organizations

Funding aims to support projects for increasing administrative and financial sustainability, says EU Affairs Ministry.

The Ministry for European Union Affairs will provide funding of €3 million ($3.7 million) to civil society organizations (CSOs) in the period 2019-2020, the ministry said in a statement.

In order to strengthen the institutional capacity of CSOs, second phase of Civil Society Support Program (CSSP) is envisaged to be implemented between 2019 and 2020, the statement said.

CSSP is aimed to support projects for increasing administrative and financial sustainability, communication and advocacy skills of CSOs with a total budget of €3 million, it added.

For the projects, the ministry said, minimum and maximum amount to be awarded are 60,000 euros and 150,000 euros respectively.

It directed the CSOs to submit proposals of their projects to Central Finance and Contracts Unit until May 8, 2018 by 05.00 p.m. local time . -
