A Turkish Airlines Boeing 777-300 with 332 people on board safely made an emergency landing at the airport, the spokesman for Warsaw's main international airport said.
Przemyslaw Przybylski said Thursday that the passengers were evacuated at Frederic Chopin airport and airport services were checking the plane. Przybylski did not say what caused the emergency landing of the passenger jet that had been en route from İstanbul to San Francisco but Turkish news reports said it was due to a suspicious unclaimed mobile phone found by the flight crew on a passenger seat.
The mobile phone has been handed to the security authorities and the plane is expected to proceed to San Francisco. (Cihan/Today's Zaman)
