In the 4th week of the UEFA Champions League, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe gave Turkish football a historic night by defeating European giants. The yellow-reds beat Stuttgart 2-0, while the yellow-navy blues defeated Liverpool 3-2. With our two representatives completing the same week with victories, a first was experienced in the Champions League on behalf of Turkish football.
Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, competing in the UEFA Champions League, made Turkish football very proud with their victories in the 4th week. Both of our representatives defeated strong opponents and ended the week with three points each. The yellow-reds beat Stuttgart 2-0 in Istanbul, while Fenerbahçe managed to defeat Liverpool 3-2 in Kadıköy.
GALATASARAY BEAT STUTTGART WITH 2 GOALS
Galatasaray defeated German representative Stuttgart, whom they hosted at home in the 4th week of the UEFA Champions League, 2-0. The goals that brought the victory to the yellow-red team were scored by Russian star Aleksey Batrakov.
The 21-year-old footballer, who found the net in the 12th and 15th minutes of the match, played a leading role in Galatasaray adding the three points to their tally.
FENERBAHÇE OVERTURNED LIVERPOOL IN KADIKÖY
Fenerbahçe, on the other hand, signed an unforgettable victory against English giant Liverpool. In the match played in Kadıköy and featuring five goals, the yellow-navy blues defeated their opponent 3-2.
Although Liverpool came into the match with three victories, their leaving the field without points against Fenerbahçe increased the importance of the success achieved by the yellow-navy blues.
