Our National Football Team faced the Netherlands in the 2024 European Football Championship. The broadcasting crew, who aired the match, made a scandalous move by not showing our national players and fans singing our National Anthem on the screens at the Berlin Olympic Stadium. TURKISH FANS SANG THE NATIONAL ANTHEM WHILE MAKING THE GREY WOLF SIGNAfter UEFA punished our national football player Merih Demiral for making the Grey Wolf sign, Turkish fans in the stands sang our National Anthem while making the Grey Wolf sign. Those moments were not shown on the screens by the broadcasting crew. WHAT HAPPENED?UEFA had given a 2-match ban to Merih Demiral for giving the Grey Wolf salute after scoring goals in the Austria match. In addition to the 2-match ban, UEFA also demanded that Merih Demiral remove his social media posts. In their statement, UEFA explained the reason for the punishment as follows: "The player of the Turkish Football Federation, Merih Demiral, has not complied with general behavioral principles, violated basic courtesy rules, used sports events for non-sporting displays, and damaged the reputation of football. Therefore, he is banned from participating in a total of two (2) UEFA national team matches."
