Turkish Stock Exchange Down At Close

The Turkish benchmark stock index closed the day at 8,807.38 points on Tuesday, down 2.46% from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index, which started the day at 9,029.50 points, lost 222 points from Monday's close.

The lowest value of the index for the day was 8,760.63, while its daily high was 9,048.81.

Some 11 indices increased in value, while 88 declined at the end of the day.

The total transaction volume reached 96.8 billion Turkish liras ($3 billion), while the overall value of the index was 7.5 trillion liras ($233.8 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 32.1800 as of 6.05 p.m. (1605GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 34.9170, and the GBP/TRY traded at 40.6645.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,178.22, while the barrel price of Brent oil was around $86.40. -
