Turkish Stock Exchange Down At Close

The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Monday at 9,679.80 points, down 1.37% from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index had started the week at 9,759.28 points, decreasing 134.38 points from Friday's close.

The lowest value of the index for the day was 9,679.80, while its daily high was 9,823.53.

Some 26 indices increased in value by the end of the day, while 71 declined.

The total transaction volume reached 111 billion Turkish liras ($3.42 billion), while the overall value of the index was 8.3 trillion liras ($259.2 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 32.4240 as of 7.10 p.m. (1610GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 34.5005, while the GBP/TRY traded at 40.4150.

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,348.88, while the barrel price of Brent oil was around $89.50. -
