Turkish Stocks Close Thursday Flat

Turkey's benchmark stock index went down 0.09% to close at 94,157.69 points on Thursday.



After starting the day at 95,226.70 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index climbed 86.37 points from 94,244.06 points at Wednesday's close.



On Thursday, the BIST 100 hovered between 94,038.28 points and 95,954.82 points -- 47 stocks on the index rose, 41 fell, and 12 were flat compared to the previous close.



Closing the day with a market value of nearly 626 billion Turkish liras ($107 billion), the benchmark index posted a daily trading volume of 9.05 billion Turkish liras ($1.57 billion).



One ounce of gold sold for $1,383.00 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,343.70 at previous close.



The price of Brent oil was $64.20 per barrel as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT) on Thursday -- with a day range of $62.20 to $64.80.
