Turkish Stocks Up 0.24 Pct At Midweek Open

Turkey's benchmark stock index went up 0.24 percent or 248.23 points to open at 101,990.37 points on Wednesday.



On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed the day flat at 101,742.14 points with a daily trading volume of 6 billion Turkish liras ($1.13 billion).



The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.2950 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Wednesday, compared to 5.3030 at the last close.



The euro/Turkish lira rate was 6.0070, versus 5.9960 at Tuesday's close, and one British pound was exchanged for 6.9260 Turkish liras, up from 6.8870 of previous close.



One barrel of Brent oil was sold for $66.34 as of 9.50 a.m. local time Wednesday. -
