Türkiye, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates condemned Israel's refusal to implement the 15-point plan prepared for Gaza by the Peace Council led by US President Donald Trump. In the joint statement signed by the foreign ministers of the 8 countries, it was stated that Israel's stance undermines peace efforts, and called for the immediate implementation of the Gaza Plan and the establishment of lasting peace in the region based on a two-state solution.
Turkey and 7 countries condemned Israel's refusal to implement the roadmap related to US President Donald Trump's Gaza plan.
WHAT DOES TRUMP'S 15-POINT GAZA PLAN ENVISION?
On July 30, Trump announced the agreement, which envisions the complete disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza, as a "major step toward lasting peace and security." The plan was prepared by the US-led Peace Council established in February 2026. The council, comprising approximately 40 countries, includes Israel and some Arab countries but does not include Palestinian representatives.
The first phase of the plan focuses on eliminating Hamas's heavy weapons, military production facilities, weapons depots, and tunnel network. In the later stages of the process, it envisions transferring the daily administration of Gaza to a Palestinian committee of technocrats operating under the supervision of the Peace Council.
Netanyahu, however, stated that Israel demands the elimination of not only heavy weapons but all weapons, including light weapons. Netanyahu also said, "As long as I am prime minister, a Palestinian state will not be established."
ISRAELI ATTACKS CONTINUE AFTER CEASEFIRE
Despite a ceasefire declared between Israel and Hamas in October of last year, attacks continued in Gaza. According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, at least 1,258 people have been killed and 4,139 injured since the ceasefire began in mid-October. The remains of more than 800 people have been recovered from under the rubble.
During the same period, Israeli military and settler activities continued in the occupied West Bank. According to the Palestinian news agency, Israeli forces conducted raids on settlements around Nablus and Bethlehem, while Israeli settlers damaged Palestinian properties and agricultural lands around Ramallah, El-Bireh, and Bethlehem.
Israeli ministers and lawmakers also attended an event for the establishment of a new Israeli settlement named Emek Dotan near Arrabeh, southwest of Jenin.
According to data from the Gaza Ministry of Health, at least 73,386 people have been killed and 174,250 injured in Gaza since October 2023. The continued loss of life after the ceasefire and settlement activities in the West Bank increase uncertainty regarding the implementation of Trump's 15-point plan, while Netanyahu's latest statement has raised new questions about how the process will proceed.
