Türkiye Unveils Book On Humanitarian Aid

19.08.2022 18:12

Book, titled Türkiye's Friendly Hand: Humanitarian Diplomacy, raises awareness about humanitarian efforts by Türkiye.

Marking the World Humanitarian Day, Türkiye's Communications Directorate on Friday released a new book, titled Türkiye's Friendly Hand: Humanitarian Diplomacy.

The book details the humanitarian assistance provided by Türkiye from past to present, the directorate said in a statement.

The work includes topics such as Türkiye's foreign aid and soft power, nation branding and foreign aid relations, Türkiye and humanitarian diplomacy, types of foreign aid, its historical development and place in foreign policy, and humanitarian diplomacy during the pandemic period.

In the presentation part of the book, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that problems such as conflicts, wars, injustices, inequalities, terrorism, epidemics, climate change, migration and racism across the world cause deep humanitarian crises.

"As Türkiye, we host our brothers who took refuge in our country to save their lives from the civil war in Syria and the attacks of terrorist organizations by offering them services that are unmatched in the world," he said.

Erdogan added Türkiye hosts the largest number of refugees in the world, ranking first in the world in terms of humanitarian aid in proportion to national income.

"Today, Türkiye's friendly hand is to reach all corners of the world, regardless of religion, language, color or region," he said.

Penning the preface of the book, Communications Director Fahrettin Altun said the book will raise awareness about the humanitarian aid efforts carried out by Türkiye in diplomatic and human dimensions. -
