Two murder cases that have captured Turkey's agenda will be heard tomorrow. The trial for the murder of Narin Güran in Diyarbakır and the trial for the Sıla baby case in Tekirdağ will continue. NARIN GÜRAN MURDER CASEIn the Tavşantepe neighborhood of the central Bağlar district, Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21 and whose lifeless body was found in Eğertutmaz Stream on September 8, is being tried along with her detained mother Yüksel, brother Enes, uncle Salim Güran, and neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar for "intentional murder of a child in complicity," with a request for aggravated life imprisonment. The second hearing of the case will be held tomorrow. In the case where the public prosecutor has presented his opinion, the trial of the four defendants will continue at the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court. SILA BABY CASEThe investigation into the death of 2-year-old Sıla Yeniçeri, who was subjected to violence and sexual abuse by neighbor children on September 8, 2024, in the Malkara district of Tekirdağ, has been completed. In the prepared indictment, a total of 67 years of imprisonment is requested for the mother, Bakiye Yeniçeri. A sentence of 28 years and 6 months is sought for neighbor Kani A. Bakiye's boyfriend, Sanlı Ö., is wanted to be sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison for "failure to report a crime." For the children involved in the crime, 66 years of imprisonment is requested for G.K. and 48 years for K.A. The hearings of the case, which will be held at the Tekirdağ 2nd High Criminal Court, will be conducted in closed sessions in accordance with Article 185 of the Criminal Procedure Code, as the trials of adults and juvenile offenders will be held together.
