In the Orhangazi district of Bursa, two cousin children, Berat Anıl Yılmaz (9) and Yener Çakır (8), who were having a picnic at Lake İznik, went missing. After search efforts, the children were found lifeless in a water collection pool by the lakeside.

In the Orhangazi district of BURSA, two cousin children, Berat Anıl Yılmaz (9) and Yener Çakır (8), who were having a picnic by Lake İznik, went missing. Initially, the two children, whose sandals were found by the lake, were discovered dead side by side in a water collection pool belonging to the State Hydraulic Works (DSI), 50 meters away from the area where they had their picnic. It was reported that the children were swept from Lake İznik into the DSI's water collection pool.

The incident occurred on the Orhangazi Shore of Lake İznik. Two families, who are relatives, went to the lakeside for a picnic. Around 3:00 PM, Fatma and Faruk Yılmaz, along with Emine and Yılmaz Çakır, realized that their children, Berat Anıl Yılmaz and Yener Çakır, were not with them. When they found the children's sandals on the shore of Lake İznik during their search in the area, they reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.

Upon the notification, AFAD, health, gendarmerie, and police teams were dispatched to the area. As a result of the work carried out by the teams, both children were found dead side by side in the DSI's water collection pool, 50 meters away from the area where they had their picnic. The unfortunate children's families experienced a nervous breakdown at the scene, and health teams intervened. The bodies of the cousins were taken to the morgue for autopsy procedures after the examination at the scene. Meanwhile, it was learned that Berat Anıl Yılmaz and his cousin Yener Çakır were swept from Lake İznik into the DSI's water collection pool. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
