At Liverpool, one of Fenerbahçe's Champions League opponents, head coach Andoni Iraola announced that Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong, who were injured in the Brentford match, will be out of action for a while. Fenerbahçe will face Liverpool on Wednesday, November 4.
Liverpool, who managed to defeat Brentford 2-1 away in the tough battle of the Premier League, had their joy of victory overshadowed by injury news.
TWO STARS INJURED AT LIVERPOOL
It was announced that Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong, who were injured in the match, will be sidelined for a while. It was stated that second captain Dominik Szoboszlai, who experienced a muscle problem in the first half of the match and could not complete the game, has suffered a recurrence of the injury that had previously kept him out of the team. Jeremie Frimpong, who came on at the start of the second half, was able to stay on the pitch for only 6 minutes and had to come off limping due to a similar injury. It was stated that the final condition of both players will become clear after the MRIs to be taken.
''WE WON'T BE ABLE TO USE THEM FOR A WHILE''
Speaking after the match, head coach Andoni Iraola said that they returned late from the away LASK match in the Champions League and did not have enough time to rest, saying, "We returned late from the trip to Austria and did not have a chance to fully recover. In such situations, you have to choose between players who have just returned from injury and are not fully ready, and tired players. Dom's (Szoboszlai) old injury has recurred, which shows that he has not fully recovered; we need more time for him. Jeremie, on the other hand, has suffered a new injury. Unfortunately, we will not be able to use either of our two players for a while."
