HE SHARED BOTH PHOTOS
In the first photo dated June 25, Maduro is seen posing for the camera in a grey tracksuit, white sneakers, and glasses. In the second close-up shot, Maduro is seen holding his glasses, smiling toward the camera, and making a victory sign.
"WE STAND TALL"
Maduro, who shared these photos on his social media account with the note "A small gift of love and hope," said the following: "I am sending these photos as a small gift to all my grandchildren, grandchildren, children, daughters, and all the noble people who love us. I want you to know that we are standing tall, our hearts are full of your love, a love that reaches us as prayer, as constant action, as solidarity and real support. Infinite thanks for every word, every gesture, every blessing.
"VENEZUELA WILL BE REBORN"
Enjoy this small gift with joy and hope. Cilia and I embrace you forever; our soul is with you, and our faith in God is strong. WHAT HAPPENED?
Explosions and the sound of aircraft were heard in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, on January 3. Following the explosions, the Venezuelan government accused the US of attacking civilian and military facilities in various parts of the country.
US President Donald Trump announced that a large-scale attack had been carried out against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, and that Maduro and his wife had been taken out of the country.
Then-US Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that criminal charges had been filed in the US against Maduro and his wife Flores, and that Maduro was charged with "drug terrorism, cocaine trafficking, and possession of machine guns and destructive devices against the US."
